Does barren myrtle have a long history?

Native Americans have been using the glossy leaves of this low-growing shrub medicinally since the second century. 

Generally Prepared:

Uva Ursi leaf is generally prepared as a tea or tincture.  Another traditional use is in a smudge and smoking mix.

Add 2 teaspoons of the cut leaves to 8 ounces of hot water.  Steep for 15-20 minutes.
