What is Alcachofa (Artichoke)?
Alcachofa is a vegetable that grows 2 meters tall. The Alcachofa plant has long, arching green leaves with flowers consisting of purple triangular scales. The edible portion of the Alcachofa plant is the base of the bud, called the involucral bracts, or aslo known as the "heart". The florets in the center of the bud is call the "choke". The choke is edible, but only in older, larger flowers.

How does Alcachofa (Artichoke) work?
Alcachofa contains a ton of "cynarin" which helps stimulate your body's production of bile. Some evidence shows that Alcachofa may relieve upset stomach and help ease symptoms of IBS (irritable bowel syndrom).
