What is Guarumbo?
Guarumbo is a species of flowering plant from the family of Urticaceae found in evergreen forests in Mexico and South America.
Benefits of Guarumbo
Guarumbo is commonly used to regulate blood sugar for those who suffer from diabetes, and also to regulate blood pressure or to flush the kidneys. It is also used to medicate scorpion bites, to treat burns (with guarumbo oil), or treat skin conditions by bathing in an infusion. Bathing in an infusion of Guarumbo acts as an analgesic (including body aches). Other medicinal uses attributed to the plant are treating asthma, lung disease, liver disorders, rheumatism, obesity, heart disease, nervous disorders, fevers, and body aches.
How to consume Guarumbo
An infusion of the leaves, twigs, bark, and root is either injested, or applied in packs to the stomach twice a day.
